Start with your accommodation
Ask whether parking is included, reserved or simply nearby. Request the entrance location and check height or width restrictions if choosing a larger car. “Parking available” does not always mean a space is held for you. A clear arrangement can be more useful than finding a slightly cheaper rental.
Visit the Old Town on foot
Plan to leave the car in a signed parking area outside the historic centre and walk the remaining distance. Check the route from the parking area if you have luggage, a pushchair or limited mobility. Allow extra time to find a space during busy periods rather than stopping somewhere unsuitable for a quick visit.
Read the local instructions
Before leaving the car, inspect signs for restrictions, opening hours, charging periods and payment methods. Keep the ticket or payment confirmation and note how to extend your stay if necessary. Do not assume a phone-based method works with your number or payment card. Current tariffs should be checked on site.
Think about the end of the day
Save the parking location and make sure the exit will be accessible when you return. Avoid blocking driveways, pedestrian routes or service access. If your itinerary is mostly walkable, consider renting only for excursion days. For hotel delivery, agree a handover space separately from the place where you will park overnight.
Choose a car that fits your parking plan
An economy car may make a tight space easier to use, but check its luggage capacity before choosing solely for size. For a larger family vehicle, ask about entrance width, height and turning space. If you stay at a hotel in Bečići, confirm whether the quoted parking is on the property and whether a space is reserved for you. Request a map pin for the vehicle entrance, which may differ from reception.
Collection is not an overnight parking reservation
A rental handover near your hotel does not itself include permission to leave the car there all week. Confirm the overnight arrangement with the accommodation and the handover with the rental contact.
